Untell Retrace

Four video pieces by Margarida Paiva (1975) opens the new exhibition year at ROM for kunst og arkitektur. Her most recent work, “Fragments from an unknown woman” (2008) will be presented as the exhibitions central piece beside earlier works, “Untitled Stories” (2007), “Nightfall” (2006) and “House of Stairs” (2004).
All four works are narratives build upon single or multiple stories. Paiva is deconstructing, fragmenting, mixing and “untelling” the core stories to create new plots, retraced from the fragments and retold with a very steady hand on the camera and an excellent finishing in the editing room.
